For our interested new members, or those who haven't walked with us in the past, this is strictly a walking group, not hiking. We do about 5-6 km on easy trails.
There are hiking groups available for those who want something more adventurous (Rideau Trail Assn. and the Ottawa Ramblers are 2 such groups).
